Set in the beautiful surrounds of the Macedon Ranges, Elderslie (circa 1852) is ideally located just 45 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, 35 minutes from Melbourne Airport and 5 minutes from the township of Gisborne.

 

The extensive and integrated freeway system offers direct links to other key racing and training facilities in metropolitan Melbourne including Flemington, Caulfield and Cranbourne as well as regional areas:  Kyneton and Bendigo.

Gisborne enjoys a temperate to cooler climate with an average rainfall of 350 – 450 mm per year.  The soils are volcanic loam with a heavier textured sub-soil - the perfect environment for young and growing horses. 

Elderslie boasts a 2.1 km sand racetrack incorporating a 500m straight, wide cambered bends and a gentle rise to finish. It also offers a large rubber lined round year, excellent stabling facilities with day yards and well fenced safe improved pastured paddocks for spelling and grazing.

Diets are individually tailored by equine nutritionists using only the highest quality feeds and supplements and locally grown hay from the rich pastures of the Macedon Ranges.

A regime of appropriate therapies can also be incorporated into your horse’s stay at Elderslie, including chiropractic care, physiotherapy and deep tissue massage for optimum performance for the equine athlete  by accredited practitioners.    Treating a performance horse as a finely tuned athlete will help give you the winning edge.
